Estimated Traffic for Selected Keywords
Continuing from the previous page, once you've clicked on the "Estimate Search Traffic" button, Google will show you two information boxes located on the top of your "Estimate Traffic" page. If you have any "Inactive for search" keywords (very likely) you will always get those two information boxes (Quality Check).
To get rid of those boxes, you'd have to either delete all inactive for search keywords, in crease your keyword quality, modify text ads, or increase max bid. If you feel that you need to delete some of the inactive for search keywords because the estimated minimum bids are too high, then delete them. If the inactive for search keywords minimum bids are not much higher than your highest bids (i.e. a few pennies off), don't worry too much about them. Everyone has some inactive for search keywords in their campaigns.
Traffic Estimate Table
The Traffic Estimate Table consists of the following columns:
- Keywords / Minimum Bid
- Max CPC / Predicted Status
- Search Volume
- Estimated Avg. CPC
- Estimated Ad Positions
Google Defines Each Column Header As Follows:
Keywords / Minimum Bid: "Listed below each keyword is the minimum bid assigned to that keyword based on its Quality Score (measure of relevance). The minimum bid is usually the least amount you can pay per click in order for that keyword to show ads."
Max CPC / Predicted Status: "If your keyword's maximum CPC bid meets or exceeds the minimum bid assigned to that keyword, it will be listed as 'Active' (and will be able to show your ads). If a keyword's maximum CPC is below the minimum bid, it will be listed as 'Inactive for search' (and will not show your ads on search result pages)."
Search Volume: "Statistics showing the relative amount of users searching for that keyword on Google. The green bar represents a general low-to-high quantitative guide to help you determine how competitive ad placement is for a particular keyword."
Estimated Avg. CPC: "The predicted average cost-per-click (CPC) amount that you could actually pay each time someone clicks your ad. Our AdWords Discounter automatically reduces your click prices whenever possible, so your actual CPC prices may be lower than your maximum CPC bid."
Estimated Ad Positions: "The predicted average range of positions in which your ad may show for a particular keyword. Remember that ad positions are not fixed and may vary depending on various performance factors."
